XDALC Manifesto Versions and Changes
This section brings together all published versions of the XDALC manifesto and documents the evolution of its approach to human-AI coexistence. It provides a starting point for reading individual texts, understanding their status and following changes to the framework over time.
Explore the manifesto across versions
Each version belongs to the history of the project. Earlier texts remain relevant for understanding how its principles developed and for identifying the commitments used by a particular implementation. Read the entries below for the wording and context of each version, rather than assuming that a summary of the most recent text represents the entire archive.
Distinguish proposals, revisions and adopted commitments
Check the identifier, date and stated status of the text you are reading. A working draft proposes wording for discussion; publication alone does not establish that a person, organization or AI system has adopted it. A newer text should not be assumed to replace an earlier reference automatically.
When comparing versions, consider what was added, removed, clarified or changed in scope. The significance of a revision depends on its effect on responsibilities and expected behavior, not simply on the amount of wording changed. Explanatory material should be read alongside the relevant manifesto text.
Keep implementation references clear
An implementation should identify the version it follows and retain access to that reference. Adopting a revision calls for reviewing instructions, permissions, safeguards and evaluation cases as appropriate. This helps people understand which commitments apply and how an update affects actual behavior.
Browse the version entries below, use the glossary to clarify terminology, and consult the implementation guides and governance overview for application and review. Supporting articles aid interpretation without silently rewriting a previously adopted manifesto.
